SUMMARY:
The Business Development Representative is a position in the Lightspeed Systems Sales Department with responsibilities of calling current and potential customers to drive awareness and interest in Lightspeed Systems and its products. This document details many of the required duties and responsibilities necessary for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are the essential functions of the position. The list is not exhaustive, and may be supplemented as necessary.
- Communicate well with internal and external customers and thrives in a team environment.
- Attend weekly team meetings and other mandatory training sessions.
- Act as first impression of Lightspeed Systems to potential customers.
- Develop rapport with potential customers.
- Make calls to current and potential customers on pre-show campaigns, Lunch-N-Learns, as well as other Lightspeed events.
- Further qualify each school district lead to pass off to the Lightspeed RSMs/Partners.
- Document account information in Salesforce.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Basic computer and internet skills required.
- Basic understanding of business practices.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, KEY BEHAVIORS:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with current and potential customers, as well as all levels of staff.
- Ability to clearly convey product information over the phone.
- Ability to gather information effectively while on the phone.
- Ability to clearly document and record information.
- Ability to perform several duties concurrently.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Physical demands typical of an office environment including sitting, stooping/kneeling, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing and seeing.
