Please make sure that you read the terms of any privacy policies that you enter into with parties other than Lightspeed Systems including your employer or educational institution, as those policies may also explain how your personal information is used by those parties. If you are accessing Lightspeed Systems through a third-party, public, or unsecured internet provider, please be advised that any information you disclose or publish during the course of such access may be collected by any such provider and that Lightspeed Systems has no control and makes no representation as to the possible use of this information by any such provider.<\/p><p>Please note that each School controls its instance of the Services and any associated data processed within that instance (\u201cSchool Data\u201d). When a School administrator registers a School with Lightspeed Systems or corresponds with us online, we ask for certain information including a contact name, school name, school district, school email address, school physical address and\/or account name, phone number, job title, message content, and information relating to the School\u2019s information systems. We may also retain information provided by a School if the School sends us a message, posts content to our website or through our Services, or responds to emails or surveys. Once a School begins using Services provided by Lightspeed Systems, we will keep records of activities related to the Services. We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide the features and functionality of the Services, including customer service, support, and billing; to analyze our offerings and functionality; to communicate with our Schools and website visitors; to exchange information, and to offer related services such as user group membership and event registration.<\/p><p>When downloading or using the Lightspeed Systems StopIt Anonymous Reporting System (ARS) App, we do not require or automatically collect personal information. Incident reports are anonymous, unless a user chooses to include identifying information. If such information is provided, we may be required to disclose it to law enforcement or others as required by applicable law. When organizations subscribe to StopIt services, they may provide administrator details such as name, email, phone number, unique ID. Admins manage incident reports and communications within their organization.<\/p><p><strong><u>Student Data<\/u><\/strong>:<br \/><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW23775506 BCX0\">Lightspeed Systems may have access to personally identifiable information about students (\u201cStudent Data\u201d) in the course of providing Services to a School, including student name, email address, device information\/identifiers and usage data We recognize Student Data is confidential and do not use such data for any purpose other than to provide the Services on the School\u2019s behalf. Lightspeed Systems\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW23775506 BCX0\">receives<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW23775506 BCX0\">\u00a0Student Data only from the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW23775506 BCX0\">School<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW23775506 BCX0\">\u00a0and never\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW23775506 BCX0\">interacts<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW23775506 BCX0\">\u00a0with the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW23775506 BCX0\">Student<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW23775506 BCX0\">\u00a0directly. We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide the features and functionality of the Services, including customer service and support; to analyze our offerings and functionality; and to communicate with parents. Parents should consult the school\u2019s acceptable\/responsible use, social media, personnel, and instructional policies for more information about the school\u2019s policies and practices for protecting children on the internet. Teachers are reminded to also be aware of their obligations under the ethical standards for educators in their state and to be conscious of their role as a model for students while interacting with students using Services provided by Lightspeed Systems. See \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightspeedsystems.com\/en_uk\/privacy-policy\/#section-4\">Student Safety<\/a>\u201d below for further explanation of our commitment to online student safety.<\/p><p><strong><u>Non-Personally Identifiable Information<\/u><\/strong>:<br \/><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">We may collect certain non-personally identifiable information from visitors to our sites and users of our Services, such as the date and time of their visit, the type of browser used (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer), the type of operating system used (e.g., Windows or Mac OS), the internet service provider from which the visitor receives internet access, and aggregate information regarding what pages users of the site access or visit. We may collect data for Schools to\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">monitor<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">\u00a0and generate reports of their users\u2019 online search queries, websites visited or blocked from visiting recorded web activity, and device geolocation for purpose of asset recovery. In addition, we may\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">monitor<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">\u00a0Schools\u2019 onboarding tasks completed, search queries on our sites, number of users\u2019 sessions on our websites,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">city<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">\u00a0and state\/province where last accessing our Services, responses to our survey questions, and content provided on managed devices via customizable fields. We\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">may also match non-personally identifiable information from registered members with personally identifiable information (such as the member\u2019s name, title) in our database to track deployment progress, troubleshoot Services issues, analyze usage, and otherwise\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">monitor<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109391976 BCX0\">\u00a0Services to make improvements. Lightspeed Systems and its third-party service providers use cookies (both session and persistent cookies) and other tracking mechanisms to automatically collect information including IP addresses, session sources, and other data which tracks End Users\u2019 access to the Services. We may combine this information with other personal information we collect from you (and our third-party service providers may do so on our behalf).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>StopIt App Data:<br \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We may de-identify\u00a0and aggregate data from reports for analysis and\u00a0to further\u00a0our mission of supporting safer schools. We and our third-party service providers also use clear GIFs in HTML emails to our customers to help us track e-mail response rates, identify when our e-mails are viewed, and track whether our e-mails are\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW181722004 BCX0\">forwarded.We<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW181722004 BCX0\">\u00a0use or may use the data collected through cookies, log files, device identifiers, and clear GIFs to (a) remember information so in subsequent visits a user will not have to re-enter it; (b) provide custom, personalized content, and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of our Services; (d) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and usage on our website and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW181722004 BCX0\">our Services; (e) diagnose or fix technology problems; and (f) help users efficiently access information after signing in.<\/span><\/p><p><strong><u>Third-Party Analytics<\/u><\/strong>:<br \/>We use automated devices, applications, and other means, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate usage of our Lightspeed Systems websites and Services. We use these tools to help us improve our Services, performance and user experiences. We do NOT use these for remarketing and do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes, including direct marketing. We do not permit contextual advertisements, marketing, or other third-party advertising and promotion in our products or services. These entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies to perform their services. We do not control these third parties\u2019 tracking technologies or how they may be used. Please note that these tracking technologies are never used in our products (lightspeedsystems.app), but are available only on our lightspeedsystems.com website.<\/p><p>Our Cookie Banner is configured with all Targeting cookies turned off by default to give users more control over their data.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Third-Party AI Services:<br \/><\/strong><\/span>We employ application program interfaces (\u201cAPI\u201d) provided by 3rd party AI vendors, listed in our sub-processor list on our\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightspeedsystems.com\/en_uk\/about\/trust\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trust page<\/a>, to enable the AI capabilities of our Products. No personal data is used to train AI models used by Lightspeed Systems or its third-party vendors. We are committed to ensuring the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightspeedsystems.com\/en_uk\/responsible-use-of-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Responsible Use of AI,<\/a> maintaining data security and ensuring compliance with relevant data protection laws. Any data transmitted through these APIs is stored for up to 30 days solely for the purposes of monitoring abuse and misuse, after which it is permanently deleted unless a longer retention period is required by law.<\/p><p><strong><u>Do-Not-Track<\/u><\/strong>:<br \/>Currently, our systems do not recognize browser \u201cdo-not-track\u201d requests. You may, however, disable certain tracking as discussed in this section (e.g., by disabling cookies).<\/p><p><strong><u>Data Controller<\/u><\/strong>:<br \/>Lightspeed Systems acts as a Data Controller for personal information collected directly by us in connection with our website, marketing activities, events, support cases, and communications.<\/p><p>When providing services to a school, Lightspeed Systems acts as the Data Processor on behalf of the school with respect to student data and other personal data processed within our services. In these cases, the school is the Data Controller and determines the purposes and means of processing such data.<\/p><p>Lightspeed Systems processes personal data on behalf of schools -in accordance with the school\u2019s instructions, applicable agreements (such as Data Processing Agreements), and applicable law.<\/p><p>Where applicable, Lightspeed Systems may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, service improvement, and other lawful business purposes, consistent with applicable law and contractual commitments.<\/p><p><strong><u>Data Processor<\/u><\/strong>:<br \/>When a school licenses or uses Lightspeed Systems services, the parties acknowledge and agree that Lightspeed Systems acts as a Data Processor on behalf of the school with respect to personal data processed within the services, as set forth in applicable agreements. Students are not allowed to sign up for any Lightspeed Systems solutions. Student accounts are provided only through a verified educator, school, or educational organization.
