\"STOPit-Solutions-ALL\"Si bien a menudo nos preocupamos por los peligros que enfrentan los adolescentes con el acceso ilimitado a la tecnolog\u00eda y las redes sociales, una medida reciente del Distrito Escolar Natchez Adams podr\u00eda ser una excepci\u00f3n que valga la pena elogiar.<\/p>\n

A principios de esta semana, los miembros de la junta escolar autorizaron la compra de la aplicaci\u00f3n m\u00f3vil STOPit para los estudiantes del distrito. Esta aplicaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ada para que los estudiantes puedan reportar de forma segura y confidencial incidentes de ciberacoso, autolesiones o mala conducta. Los estudiantes pueden enviar mensajes de texto, fotos o videos como prueba a las autoridades, todo ello de forma an\u00f3nima. Adem\u00e1s, la aplicaci\u00f3n puede ayudar a conectar a los estudiantes con consejeros de crisis capacitados.<\/p>\n

Por una inversi\u00f3n de menos de $4,300 al a\u00f1o, el distrito puede hacer que esta aplicaci\u00f3n sea accesible para sus estudiantes y, esperamos, ofrecer otra herramienta dise\u00f1ada para ayudar a los estudiantes a mantenerse seguros.<\/p>\n

El ciberacoso es una amenaza generalizada para nuestros j\u00f3venes. Las plataformas de redes sociales, los mensajes de texto, las plataformas de mensajer\u00eda instant\u00e1nea, los foros en l\u00ednea, el correo electr\u00f3nico y las comunidades de juegos en l\u00ednea est\u00e1n plagadas de acoso y burlas, desde leves hasta mortales. Todo joven con acceso a una pantalla, ya sea tel\u00e9fono, tableta o computadora, corre el riesgo de sufrir ciberacoso. Las estad\u00edsticas muestran que siete de cada diez j\u00f3venes sufren ciberacoso antes de cumplir los 18 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

De los adolescentes que admitieron ser v\u00edctimas, la mitad dijo sentirse enojados; un tercio se sinti\u00f3 herido; y casi el 15 % admiti\u00f3 tener miedo. El acoso se manifiesta mediante comentarios sexuales, rumores en l\u00ednea, comentarios ofensivos y m\u00e1s. Adem\u00e1s, los adolescentes suelen ser v\u00edctimas de acoso por su apariencia, rendimiento acad\u00e9mico, raza, sexualidad, situaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica y religi\u00f3n, entre otras muchas razones.<\/p>\n

Ser adolescente ya es bastante dif\u00edcil sin la amplificaci\u00f3n adicional de las plataformas digitales que aumentan las burlas y el acoso.<\/p>\n

Por eso nos anima la adopci\u00f3n de esta aplicaci\u00f3n segura y an\u00f3nima para denunciar a los estudiantes de NASD.
