WACO, Texas (KWTX)<\/strong> \u2013 Il distretto scolastico indipendente di Waco ha lanciato l\u2019applicazione \u201cSTOPit\u201d all\u2019inizio di ottobre con la speranza di contrastare il bullismo e altre minacce.<\/p>\n

"\u00c8 uno strumento che consente una comunicazione bidirezionale", ha affermato la dott.ssa Rachelle Warren, sovrintendente associata per i servizi e il supporto agli studenti.<\/p>\n

\u201cPossono inviare segnalazioni in forma anonima e possono riguardare qualsiasi comportamento preoccupante.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hope Balfa-Mustakim ha due figli a Waco e sostiene che \u00e8 necessario affrontare i problemi di salute mentale e di bullismo.<\/p>\n

"Come assistente sociale, comprendo le implicazioni che la salute mentale ha sui bambini che subiscono bullismo, sui bambini che assistono al bullismo e persino sui bambini che commettono bullismo", ha affermato.<\/p>\n

Balfa-Mustakim afferma che questi problemi sono visibili anche qui nella nostra zona e possono influenzare gli studenti in diversi modi. Ecco perch\u00e9 gli strumenti per segnalarli sono cos\u00ec importanti.<\/p>\n

"La salute mentale e il bullismo hanno un impatto drammatico sul rendimento degli studenti, sulla loro capacit\u00e0 di apprendere e sul clima del campus, dove si sentono al sicuro e possono imparare perch\u00e9 si sentono al sicuro", ha affermato Balfa-Mustakim.<\/p>\n

I dirigenti del distretto scolastico indipendente di Waco sperano che l'app "STOPit" apra questa porta alla comunicazione e affermano di vedere gi\u00e0 segnali in tal senso.<\/p>\n

Il dott. Warren afferma che nel mese di ottobre sono arrivate decine di segnalazioni tramite l'app da parte di studenti delle scuole elementari, medie e superiori, che sono state inviate direttamente a un amministratore.<\/p>\n

"Ci consente davvero di entrare in contatto con la voce pi\u00f9 importante della nostra comunit\u00e0 e di vedere le cose dalla loro prospettiva", ha affermato il dott. Warren.<\/p>\n

"Ogni singolo rapporto che abbiamo ricevuto finora ci ha davvero messo in contatto con informazioni importanti."<\/p>\n

La facilit\u00e0 di accesso alle segnalazioni ha reso genitori come Hope grati per questo passo avanti volto a proteggere i nostri figli e a garantire la sicurezza di tutti.<\/p>\n

"\u00c8 solo una fetta della torta della salute mentale del nostro distretto, ma \u00e8 una fetta enorme", ha affermato Balfa-Mustakim.<\/p>\n

"Qualcosa di accessibile che, anche senza linea telefonica, consenta comunque di connettersi al Wi-Fi. Speriamo che renda i nostri figli non solo pi\u00f9 sicuri, ma anche pi\u00f9 sicuri."<\/p>\n

STOPit non sostituir\u00e0 il rapporto che vogliamo che il personale costruisca con i nostri studenti, ma speriamo che l'app li incoraggi a sentirsi pi\u00f9 sicuri nel segnalare episodi di bullismo o altri problemi e a non temere ritorsioni".<\/p>\n
