General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Meeting EU regulations and protecting personal information.

Protecting our users' data

The GDPR is the European framework for data protection laws and aims to give control to individuals over their personal data. Lightspeed Systems® was ready for GDPR on May 25, 2018, and we continue to evaluate our processes and systems to ensure we are compliant. This work includes documenting and protecting all processing activities that use personal information for both customers and our employees, training and limiting access.

Our privacy policy

Within our Privacy Policy we use GDPR-compliant privacy language that explains the personal information that is processed for customers, as well as an overview of the policies, procedures, and security measures that Lightspeed Systems® utilizes to protect personal data.

How we handle student data

Lightspeed Systems® has access to student data only as requested by the school and only for the purposes of performing services on the school’s behalf. We limit the collection of data to only the data required to provide the appropriate service.

GDPR-compliant applications

Lightspeed Digital Insight™ acts as a GDPR compliance software by providing schools the visibility needed to make sure all the apps on their network are handling user’s data in the correct way and meet GDPR regulations.
