\"STOPit-Solutions-ALL\"\u00c4ven om vi ofta oroar oss f\u00f6r de faror som ton\u00e5ringar st\u00e5r inf\u00f6r med obegr\u00e4nsad tillg\u00e5ng till teknik och sociala medier, kan ett nyligt drag fr\u00e5n Natchez Adams School District vara ett undantag v\u00e4rt att lovorda.<\/p>\n

Tidigare i veckan godk\u00e4nde skolstyrelseledam\u00f6ter ink\u00f6pet av STOPit-appen f\u00f6r elever i distriktet. Den h\u00e4r appen \u00e4r utformad f\u00f6r att elever s\u00e4kert och konfidentiellt ska kunna rapportera incidenter av n\u00e4tmobbning, sj\u00e4lvskadebeteende eller oegentligheter. Elever kan skicka sms, foton eller videor som bevis till tj\u00e4nstem\u00e4n \u2013 allt medan de f\u00f6rblir anonyma. Och appen kan \u00e4ven hj\u00e4lpa till att koppla ihop elever med utbildade krisr\u00e5dgivare.<\/p>\n

F\u00f6r en investering p\u00e5 mindre \u00e4n 1 800 000 kr \u00e5rligen kan distriktet g\u00f6ra den h\u00e4r appen tillg\u00e4nglig f\u00f6r sina elever och, f\u00f6rhoppningsvis, erbjuda ytterligare ett verktyg utformat f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4lpa eleverna att h\u00e5lla sig s\u00e4kra.<\/p>\n

N\u00e4tmobbning \u00e4r ett genomgripande hot mot v\u00e5ra unga. Sociala medieplattformar, sms, snabbmeddelandeplattformar, onlineforum, e-post och onlinespelgemenskaper pl\u00e5gas av mobbning och trakasserier, fr\u00e5n milda till d\u00f6dliga. Varje ung person med tillg\u00e5ng till en sk\u00e4rm \u2013 oavsett om det \u00e4r telefon, surfplatta eller dator \u2013 riskerar att bli utsatt f\u00f6r n\u00e4tmobbning. Och statistik visar att sju av tio unga upplever n\u00e4tmobbning innan de fyller 18 \u00e5r.<\/p>\n

Av de ton\u00e5ringar som erk\u00e4nde att de var offer sa h\u00e4lften att de blev arga; en tredjedel k\u00e4nde sig s\u00e5rade; och n\u00e4stan 15 procent erk\u00e4nde att de var r\u00e4dda. Mobbning tar formen av sexuella kommentarer, rykten p\u00e5 n\u00e4tet, elaka kommentarer med mera. Och ton\u00e5ringar mobbas ofta f\u00f6r sitt utseende, akademiska prestationer, ras, sexualitet, ekonomiska status och religion, bland en m\u00e4ngd andra anledningar.<\/p>\n

Att vara ton\u00e5ring \u00e4r sv\u00e5rt nog utan den extra f\u00f6rst\u00e4rkningen av digitala plattformar som bidrar till h\u00e5n och mobbning.<\/p>\n

D\u00e4rf\u00f6r \u00e4r vi uppmuntrade av inf\u00f6randet av denna s\u00e4kra, anonyma rapporteringsapp f\u00f6r NASD-studenter.
