WACO, Texas (KWTX)<\/strong> \u2013 Waco Independent School District lanserade applikationen \u201dSTOPit\u201d i b\u00f6rjan av oktober i hopp om att ta itu med mobbning och andra hot.<\/p>\n

Appen l\u00e5ter elever, deras familjer eller vem som helst i samh\u00e4llet ge anonyma tips med hj\u00e4lp av bilder, videor och text.<\/p>\n

\u201dDet \u00e4r ett verktyg som m\u00f6jligg\u00f6r tv\u00e5v\u00e4gskommunikation\u201d, sa Dr. Rachelle Warren, bitr\u00e4dande superintendent f\u00f6r studentservice och st\u00f6d.<\/p>\n

"De kan skicka in rapporter anonymt och kan handla om vad som helst, allts\u00e5 allt oroande beteende."<\/p>\n

Hope Balfa-Mustakim har tv\u00e5 barn i Waco och s\u00e4ger att det \u00e4r viktigt att ta itu med problem med psykisk h\u00e4lsa och mobbning.<\/p>\n

\u201dSom socialarbetare f\u00f6rst\u00e5r jag vilka konsekvenser psykisk h\u00e4lsa har f\u00f6r det barn som blir mobbat, de barn som bevittnar mobbning och till och med de barn som mobbar\u201d, sa hon.<\/p>\n

Balfa-Mustakim s\u00e4ger att dessa problem kan ses h\u00e4r i v\u00e5rt omr\u00e5de och kan p\u00e5verka eleverna p\u00e5 mer \u00e4n ett s\u00e4tt. Det \u00e4r d\u00e4rf\u00f6r verktyg f\u00f6r att rapportera det \u00e4r s\u00e5 viktiga.<\/p>\n

\u201dPsykisk h\u00e4lsa och mobbning har en s\u00e5 dramatisk inverkan p\u00e5 elevernas prestationer, deras f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att l\u00e4ra sig och klimatet p\u00e5 campus d\u00e4r de k\u00e4nner sig trygga och kan l\u00e4ra sig eftersom de k\u00e4nner sig trygga\u201d, sa Balfa-Mustakim.<\/p>\n

Ledarna f\u00f6r Waco ISD hoppas att appen \u201dSTOPit\u201d ska \u00f6ppna den kommunikationsd\u00f6rren och s\u00e4ger att de redan ser tecken p\u00e5 det.<\/p>\n

Dr. Warren s\u00e4ger att dussintals rapporter fr\u00e5n grundskolor, mellanstadier och gymnasien har kommit in i appen under oktober m\u00e5nad och g\u00e5tt direkt till en administrat\u00f6r.<\/p>\n

\u201dDet g\u00f6r det verkligen m\u00f6jligt f\u00f6r oss att n\u00e5 ut till den viktigaste r\u00f6sten i v\u00e5r gemenskap och se saker ur deras perspektiv\u201d, sa Dr. Warren.<\/p>\n

"Varje rapport vi har f\u00e5tt hittills har verkligen kopplat oss till viktig information."<\/p>\n

Enkel tillg\u00e5ng till rapportering g\u00f6r f\u00f6r\u00e4ldrar som Hope tacksamma f\u00f6r detta steg f\u00f6r att skydda v\u00e5ra barn och h\u00e5lla alla s\u00e4kra.<\/p>\n

"Det \u00e4r bara en del av den psykiska h\u00e4lsans kaka f\u00f6r v\u00e5rt distrikt, men det \u00e4r en enorm s\u00e5dan", sa Balfa-Mustakim.<\/p>\n

"N\u00e5got l\u00e4ttillg\u00e4ngligt som man kan f\u00e5 via wifi \u00e4ven om man inte har telefont\u00e4ckning. F\u00f6rhoppningsvis g\u00f6r det att v\u00e5ra barn inte bara k\u00e4nner sig tryggare utan ocks\u00e5 k\u00e4nner sig tryggare."<\/p>\n

Appen \u00e4r tillg\u00e4nglig p\u00e5 alla Waco ISD-enheter eller kan laddas ner via appbutiken p\u00e5 dina egna enheter.<\/p>\n

Finansiering f\u00f6r plattformen tillhandah\u00e5lls genom lagen om att stoppa v\u00e5ld i skolan, genom ett bidrag fr\u00e5n justitiedepartementet som tilldelades ESC Region 12 i oktober f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret.<\/p>\n

\u201dVi \u00e4r tacksamma mot Region 12 f\u00f6r att de ger oss m\u00f6jligheten att anv\u00e4nda detta mycket v\u00e4rdefulla verktyg\u201d, s\u00e4ger Dr. Susan Kincannon, skolchef. \u201dAtt erbjuda ett s\u00e4kert s\u00e4tt f\u00f6r elever att rapportera eventuella skador eller om de k\u00e4nner sig i fara \u00e4r bara ytterligare ett skyddslag f\u00f6r deras v\u00e4lbefinnande. \u00c4ven om STOPit inte kommer att ers\u00e4tta de relationer som vi vill att personalen ska bygga med v\u00e5ra elever, hoppas vi att appen kommer att uppmuntra dem att k\u00e4nna sig tryggare n\u00e4r de rapporterar mobbning eller andra problem och inte frukta repressalier.\u201d<\/p>\n
