Lightspeed Systems Cookie Notice

What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data, stored in text files, that are stored on your computer or other device when websites are loaded in a browser. They are widely used to “remember” you and your preferences, either for a single visit (through a “session cookie”) or for multiple repeat visits (using a “persistent cookie”). They ensure a consistent and efficient experience for visitors, and perform essential functions such as allowing users to register and remain logged in. Cookies may be set by the site that you are visiting (known as “first party cookies”), or by third parties, such as those who serve content or provide advertising or analytics services on the website (“third party cookies”).

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information from and about you when you use Lightspeed Systems’ services. This policy explains more about how we use cookies and your related choices.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies:
Lightspeed Systems and our third party partners, such as analytics partners, use various technologies to collect information, such as cookies and web beacons.

What types of technologies do we use?
We use or may use the data collected through cookies, log files, device identifiers, and clear GIFs to (a) remember information so in subsequent visits a user will not have to re-enter it; (b) provide custom, personalized content, and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of our Services; (d) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and usage on our website and our Services; (e) diagnose or fix technology problems; and (f) help users efficiently access information after signing in.

Third-Party Analytics
We use automated devices, applications, and other means, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate usage of our Lightspeed Systems web sites and Services. We use these tools to help us improve our Services, performance and user experiences. We do NOT use these for remarketing. These entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies to perform their services. Third-party advertising networks are never allowed to collect information about the users of our websites or Services, unless you opt into ‘Targeting Cookies’, which are turned off by default on our website. This gives users control of their data.

Do-Not-Track
Currently, our systems do not recognize browser “do-not-track” requests. You may, however, disable certain tracking as discussed in this section (e.g., by disabling cookies).

Types of Cookies and How do we use them?

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
  • Functionality Cookies: These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
  • Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.
  • Targeting Cookies: These cookies collect information about your browsing habits in order to make advertising relevant to you and your interests. They remember the websites you have visited and that information is shared with other parties such as advertising technology service providers and advertisers. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising. Please note that these are never used in our products (lightspeedsystems.app), but are available on our lightspeedsystems.com website.

How can I control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie rights by setting your preferences in the Cookie Consent Manager. The Cookie Consent Manager allows you to select which categories of cookies you accept or reject.

Functional , Performance & Targeting Cookies are set to ‘off’ by default and users have to opt in. Strictly Necessary Cookies are turned on by default and users will not be able to opt-out of any cookies or other technologies that are “strictly necessary” for the Services.

The Cookie Consent Manager can be found in the notification banner and on our website. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our website though your access to some functionality and areas of our website may be restricted. You may also set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies.
