How we measured this: Lightspeed Systems analyzed anonymized data from January through April 2026 across millions of student devices. We measure active app usage time (not login-to-logout device time) because a device being open tells very little about what students are actually doing. We also exclude zero-usage days from the average. Data reflects aggregate, de-identified patterns across Lightspeed’s network of district customers; individual district results may vary.
