Lightspeed StopIt™ Supports Georgia School Districts in Meeting HB 268 Safety Mandates

Austin, TX – July 10, 2025 – Following the statewide implementation deadline for Georgia’s School Safety Act (HB 268) on July 1, 2025, school districts across Georgia are continuing to strengthen their safety protocols using Lightspeed StopIt™, the leading anonymous reporting platform built for K–12 education.

Signed into law in April 2025, HB 268 requires public schools to implement a comprehensive set of safety measures, including maintaining an anonymous reporting system that allows students, parents, and staff to report safety threats. Lightspeed StopIt not only fulfills this requirement but enhances it, offering multi-channel access, human-reviewed triage, and direct crisis support — all configured to fit each district’s unique safety protocols.

“With HB 268, Georgia is making a strong investment in proactive school safety. StopIt helps schools meet those expectations while building trust and communication with their communities. Our District-First approach provides configurability down to the campus level to align with district needs” said Kevin Askew, Vice President, Sales at Lightspeed Systems.

How Lightspeed StopIt Helps Districts Comply with HB 268

  • Crisis text line integration: Connects students directly with a crisis counselor and guides referrals
