We’re all seeing how AI is changing the game—think ChatGPT, Gemini, and more. Our goal is to harness AI to make your life easier, whether that’s surfacing insights about how students and staff are using tech, proactively flagging configuration issues, or letting you interact with Filter in plain language. - Simplifying the Filter Agent Experience
We know deploying and managing agents can be a pain. We’re working hard to streamline updates, SSL exclusions, and more, so using our software is as easy and reliable as possible. - Strengthening Proxy Prevention
This is a never-ending battle, but we’re making big strides. Our domain sharing category last year knocked out tons of bypass sites, and we’re not stopping there.

Policies 2.0 is a huge leap forward. You get:
- Drag-and-drop prioritization

And here’s the kicker: all the cool new AI features (like BOB and image blurring) require Policies 2.0. If you haven’t migrated yet, now’s the time!
📊 Security Insights & Telemetry: See More, Worry Less

Get real-time visibility into security trends, malware, and proxy attempts. It’s included for all Filter owners and gives you the confidence that your environment is protected. - Telemetry Report
Monitor device health and status across all Lightspeed products. This isn’t tied to your roster, so it’s a high-level view for owners.
⚡ SmartShield Deployment: Now Even Easier
Deploying SmartShield used to mean command lines and manual steps. Not anymore! We’ve rolled out pre-built VM images and an installation wizard with plain language prompts. Protecting your BYOD and IoT devices is now a breeze.

- Q: Are the new telemetry and insights dashboards included, or do we need to purchase add-ons?
- EN: They’re included! The rollout will be phased, and dashboards are owner-level only (not roster-linked). Everyone using Filter will see these, and the telemetry dashboard is available for all Lightspeed products.
- Q: Do the new Bob features and image blurring require Policies 2.0?
- EN: Yes, they do. Policies 2.0 enables us to build and link these advanced features, so you’ll need to migrate to take advantage.
- Q: How soon can we access these new features?
- EN: Many are available now or rolling out soon. Some are in beta, and we’ll reach out to those interested in testing. Everything related to Policy V2 is already live; AI features and blurring are coming soon (blurring is already out).
- Q: Where can I find info about the simplified SmartShield deployment?
- EN: The updated HelpDoc link in the interface takes you to the new guide with a clear walkthrough.
